How long before ferry departure should I arrive DFDS?
We advise you to be at the port 60 to 90 minutes before departure. In high season and during the holidays, we recommend that before departure at least 90 minutes. The crossing via Dover to Dunkirk has 12 sailings per day. From Calais towards Dover there are 10 sailings per day.
Can you take alcohol on DFDS ferry to Amsterdam?
DFDS state that you are allowed to take your own food and soft drinks on board to be consumed in your cabin (no alcohol).

We accept both Euro and Sterling but currency exchange rates apply for payment by Euro. Bureau de Change facilities are available on all DFDS vessels.

The Newcastle Amsterdam service will continue to operate for those travelling on a transport booking with their vehicles or as foot passengers and bookings will remain available. Passenger capacity will be reduced to 50% on DFDS sailings from Dover to Calais and Dunkirk and Newhaven to Dieppe.
Can I take my dog on a ferry as a foot passenger?
Not all ferries offer both services, and there is typically a charge for either option. Foot passengers can struggle, as many ferry operators will expect you to contain your dog in a suitable (RSPCA-approved) pet carrier during the journey. For owners of large-breed dogs this may be a considerable inconvenience.
